View Full Version : Ok so I didn't prepare for Dual Enrolling Sciences...

I thought my 14 year old dd would dual enoll Biology and Chemistry. I've now learned that she should have the course at home first.

Which books to use? I've got Apolgia Biology and BJU Homesat dvds and books. I'm thinking she could read through Apolgia and do the tests, perhaps watch some experiments on the BJU dvds, but not do any labs. Thus, next year do Biology and labs at CC.

Chemistry... I've got the American School Chemistry and study guide. Looks dry and boring. I'm thinking of buying Rainbow's Spectrum or Apologia Chemistry. In looking at samples, Apologia looks more interesting. Probably not do labs either, as she did labs with Rainbow and will be doing serious labs in CC.

She did Rainbow Science, for fun, last summer the whole two years and two years of labs in two months. I know that Rainbow is easy, but was giving you an idea of how 'sciency' she is/is not.

So: BJU or Apologia for Biology
Spectrum or Apologia for Chemistry as intro courses before DE.

Thanks, K
