I received LCC for Christmas and that is what we are going to do.

That said, I did order Science Matters for my 8th grade DD and I have ordered CW Older Beginners...but I was considering CW and researching CW *before* I received LCC.

I will continue to follow guidelines that are in the WTM. We are using SOTW for our history and DD will use The History of the Ancient World for 9th grade.

We are essentially blending the 2 together. I love the scope & sequence that is laid out in LCC second edition.

:) HTH!

Start giving Latin the best part of your day, if you aren't already.

I have decided to go back to LCC. We start back up tomorrow. I am just going to plug in what we have already been using into the appropriate time slots. This term will be a trial, if it doesn't work out, then I haven't really lost anything. If it is a positive experience, then I might look into using the resources that are recommended.

Thank you ladies so much for your responses, I was already giving latin and math the best part of our day. This term will be a trial for us as well, i'm really hoping it works for us.

It is more about how you use what you have rather than what you use.

I thought that was the case, but I also figured that the rec's. in the book would lend themselves more to the method than what I was using, BUT I figured out a way to work with what I have.:)

We are doing MFW Adventures this year, so because it has CM short to the point lessons with Fridays off, it has been easy to implement. The things I have done for my Second grader is that we started Prima Latina in Nov. We will still be able to finish because it is scheduled in LCC for 3 terms, I just counted our first term as us not doing it and then the last 3 terms of the year we will do PL. I also added in the 2nd grade Literature selections. Which he is enjoying ALOT!!

For DD(K), we started last week and I am have started implementing all LCC suggestions, the only thing that we will be behind in is the bible and literature, but those will be easy to double up on or enjoy on thru the summer!

Thank you so much for the blog compliment! I have been ashamed that I have neglected it recently, with holidays, and a sudden week long trip. But, I'm glad you liked it! Maybe I can be good and start posting my weekly reports again!:tongue_smilie:
