They didn't turn out like i wanted and I can't serve them at a shower. Maybe I could turn it into a trifle?

Anyone have a recipe I could use?

Thanks.

Of do you just mean truly tender? I'd serve them warm and under some ice cream :-)

Or - mush 'em up with softened ice cream and then refreeze.

I WANT to serve them with ice cream (actually I want to just sit down in front of it and eat it all!), but I need them for a shower of 100. So, I was thinking of making trifle.

My Scottish Granny used to make chocolate trifle. These would be perfect for it. Chop them up into bite-sized pieces, put them in the base of the bowl; cover in chocolate mousse (made from a packet is fine); wait for the mousse to set and then cover in whipped cream; top with chocolate shavings. This was our favourite treat as children (my granny knew how children ticked!).

Layer pieces in a bowl with chocolate pudding, whipped cream, and toffee bits, mmmmmmmmm.

my much loved and lovely friend from England would say yes---just throw some sherry on it! She'd probably layer it with a fruit salad, whipped cream and um...sherry. We've noticed around here that most of her desserts involve sherry. The English are either on to something, or not good at desserts, we haven't decided yet.

I made it by the book and it was a hit. I also added in layers of cherry pie filling and it was a hit. It's also super easy and cheap w/ no exotic ingredients. It uses instant pudding mixes (not mixed by the box directions, though), whipped cream, and crumbled candy bar.

This is just great. I'm so glad that all is not lost! Phew! I'll see if I can find that site for the recipe by momof7.

Thanks again, everyone!
