I am thinking of doing history timeline with figures, instead of writing down the events / people etc.
I think that a child will get more out of his timeline if he can glance at it and see a picture to jog his memory, rather than reading it.
Any suggestions on which timeline figures to use ?
I am hoping for something that is pretty comprehensize - too few figures may frustrate ds as he will want to put as much as possible on his timeline.

Konos has an entire set of time characters that you can use on your own timeline or they have a large wall chart you can also purchase.

My six year old just saw your signature - he is rolling on the floor over your 3yo who is probably destroying something ! He can relate, he has a little 3yo sibling.

Join this Yahoo group, then go to the Files section. Under History, there's a wealth of timeline figures, history review cards, etc - I was so excited to find this resource!

Here are some others:
~ Sonlight's -- these are printed on label paper, which is so nice! Just cut out and stick on, no glue required. I think these are a special set made for them by Amy Pack from Homeschool in the Woods.
~ WinterPromise -- the ones made by WinterPromise are cute! They're already colored. They also offer some Amy Pack sets.
~ Have you already checked into the set by Amy Pack/Homeschool in the Woods? If not, you should be able to find it through Google.
I think Konos' figures might be larger because they are meant for a wall timeline vs. a book. It's been a long time since I looked at these, though, and I could be wrong.
~ Google Images -- I just use Google Images to find timeline figure for us. It's free and we've been happy with the pictures, but it can be time-consuming. (I copy the images, insert them into my Word document, reduce/resize, and then type a description and date.) If the figures you need overlap with TOG 2 (Medieval-Rennassance-Colonial America), you could join the TOG2 Yahoo group to download the ones I uploaded there.

We love the History Through the Ages timeline figures from Homeschool in the Woods here. I bought the cd covering creation through the present. It's great!

We have these, I like them. They have blank ones you can copy and make more of for any invention/person.
I like L to R, not the S shape, so I bought 2 copies of the background and just use the straight portions.
