What would you do with little kids (5 and 8) who are too young to do Core 5, but have a mother who does not want to do another core? Do you know of any picture books that blend really well with this core--possibly enough to span a whole year?

Also, I have the older ones working through the Serl Language Lesson books and I need an idea for something that would be a K level book that be a great precursor to those volumes. Which one of SWB's books would be the best?

I like to keep all the kids together for read alounds. I'm hoping to find picture books that we can read first and then move on to the chapter book read alouds. We are doing that very thing with core 3+4 and it is going well as there are so many American history picture books.

Thanks!

My 2nd and 3rd grader are doing PLL this year and in 4th grade start ILL.

My 5yo will be in 1st next year and I was planning on using Language Lessons for Little Ones v.2 by Sandi Queen. Then in 2nd grade he'll start PLL.

That's the plan anyway...:)
