I was thinking of ordering some plants from them, but I'm not sure how good of a company they are.
Any experiences?

They are a good company that has been around for a long time. I haven't ordered from them for a long time though so I can't say how customer service, shipping is at the moment.

then look up Michigan Bulb. You will find tons of reviews from people who have ordered from them.
I've never ordered from MB, but I use Dave's Garden to check out any online nursery I plan on ordering from. Dave's Garden is a great resource!

thanks! I'll check them out. I'm NOT a gardener by any stretch, but I do want to do some landscaping around my house this spring. My dd wants a butterfly garden and MBC has some plants for very cheap. I'm hoping it's not too good to be true! LOL

I don't like Michigan Bulb. I have had good experience with Bluestone Perennials http://www.bluestoneperennials.com/b/bp/index.html. Check both companies reviews on Dave's Garden http://davesgarden.com/products/gwd/.

You posted that you wanted a butterfly garden while I was searching links for Bluestone. I'm adding a link to their pre-planned Butterfly garden. http://www.bluestoneperennials.com/b/bp/specials.html

I found that! I downloaded the pdf file. They seem to get good reviews from that garden site. Thanks!

I have been reading the Bluestone catalog over and over, and have many pages dogeared. The only thing making me hesitate in ordering is that, while I know I will receive small plants, I'm wondering just HOW small they will be.
Are they tiny little things that likely will be eaten by bugs or rot away in my garden before reaching any sort of reasonable size? Or are they at least big enough to actually be seen once planted?
I'm really hesitant to spend $15 for three tiny little plants. I'd love to hear what your experience with Bluestone was, how big the plants actually were, and whether they did well once planted, or were too small to survive.

Despite her great gardening skills, good soil, etc. most of her bulbs did not even come up. She felt it was a big waste of money.
Here's a link to the information at Garden Watchdog (Dave's Garden):

I wouldn't order from them - they have a lot more negative ratings than positive.

I don't consider myself to be a great gardener, but when I ordered from them many years ago most of the things I ordered quickly died and I felt I had wasted a lot of money as well. I did not try to get a refund/replacement, although that was a big part of their advertising, so I don't know how their customer service is.

I ordered from them last year and so far everything is coming back. They also have a 25$ off coupon w/ 50$ order.

Just one more option.

bluestone perennials plants come in packs like annuals. They are small compared to quart of gallon perennials, but much more affordable. I've ordered many time in the last 20 years. I did order shrubs once. That was the one time that I really wish the plant was larger. Still I did not lose any of my hydrangea and now have big bushes, just took some patience.

I wouldn't order from Michigan Bulb; I ordered a windmill palm tree on the 25th of March and it still has not been delivered. (or shipped, for that matter). They said it would be delivered by the 4th of May, but I've checked the site and it has been revised; it now says its coming May 29th. :willy_nilly:
So I wouldn't say I'm exactly happy about that.:glare:
I'm crossing my fingers that my tree won't be delivered dead; most reviews say that the plants customers ordered have shipped dead.:rant::thumbdown::banghead: :P

www.4seasonsnurseries.com (Order from Four Seasons Nursery) has the best selections of plants, and they are amazingly cheap.:D
