I'm normally on the K-8 board, but a friend asked me to help her out. Of course, I immediately thought of the Hive. :) I'm hoping you can help me help her.

She is pulling her daughter out of a public school to start the new semester at home. She has some limited experience in homeschooling her girls through a part-time classical school. She is a working mom and would need something planned out and ready to go, so-to-speak. This particular child is self-motivated and loved being at home in the past, so that minimizes the challenges.

However, I do believe she may put her back in school at some point, so this needs to be considered. They live in the Charlotte area of NC, so any North Carolinians feel free to share about particulars of that state.

An aside is that the dc has a liberal arts bent... particularly dancing and drama, but she does very well academically.

Your thoughts are appreciated,

I am sorry. I am not clear on what your friend is looking for. Is she pulling someone out of school mid year? I just didn't really see the question. Perhaps I missed it.

I'm sorry Jennie. I forgot to add that vital information. Original post edited to reflect that she is pulling her out.

Thank you,

I'd probably opt to do some Keystone classes or some other online school since many of them provide semester long classes. No, not classical, but it would do in a pinch since the mom has limited time to find a program and needs to be away during school.
We've done Keystone, BYU and Oklahoma State University online classes and there are dozens more available.

Thank you Annie. I passed the names along to my friend and she's very grateful. :)
