Pete's Pond birds have my parakeets all in a dither...

I brought up Pete's Pond to see if I could find some wildlife there - nothing but birds at the moment. However - behind me my two parakeets can heard the African birds and it has my Lima Bean and Baby Bluebell excited and chattering/chirping away like mad.

Why doesn't the dog get excited about other dogs on tv?
