Those who know us IRL, please keep this in confidence.

We are in such a difficult season with a ds. Pride is such a stronghold for this son, and it is wrecking any ability to grasp reality and accept truth about others and about himself.

This kid is not out *doing* terrible things--he's too smart and cautious for that. His attitude and lies are wreaking destruction at home.

In addition to praying that God, in his mighty power, would break down this stronghold, please pray for me to be a wise and smart mom, to think well on my feet, to pick my battles wisely, to have self-discipline to know *when* to engage.

Thank you!

Heartbroken this morning...

Praying here. I'm so sorry you are feeling this way. We are dealing with lies, too--broken trust leads to broken hearts, and eventually, broken lives.
We tell ds16 that trust is like a bank account. You put in deposits and build up a balance by being trustworthy and keeping your word (home when you say you'll be, doing what you should, not lying, etc). When your balance is high, people give you the benefit of the doubt. But it takes very few "withdrawals" to make your account "overdrawn." Right now, his account is overdrawn, and the bank's gonna close on him! lol Well, not really, but it's close.
I really am so very sorry you are feeling so hurt. If you want to email or private message to talk more, feel free.

Praying here Valerie. This can be heartbreaking. I'm sorry you are having to go through it, though it is all part of God growing and breaking us into who He wants us to be. It can sure be hard of moms (and dads) though. (())

Val,

I'm praying for you and your dc. Sometimes it seems like our hearts will crumble into nothing from all the trials we go through with our dc. Yet, He is making your heart stronger. Our Emmanuel is with you.

God bless,
