I really would like to use CM methods and am trying to slowing read her writtings, I haven't gotten very far yet. I've been going through Ambleside booklists and from what I've seen history isn't done chronologically. Is this a correct assumption?

I'm not sure about the specifics of how CM history would be done but....
I found this website the other day which talks about history.....

They just don't do the four-year cycle until high school. In the lower grades, they do the cycle much more slowly.

Fwiw, we use TWTM's cycle, but CM methods and living books.
