Opinions on Explode the Code Online?

I'm positive I read about this on here, but I can't find the comments now!

Does anyone use this? Thoughts?

My oldest worked through ETC books up through Book 7. My 2nd son really needs the work, but getting him to do it is a challenge. He's worked through Book 3, but he ought to be further along.

I keep thinking that if I got him started on the computer instead, he'd actually be willing to work at it.

Thoughts?

This is my struggling reader, and anything I can do to make the concepts stick without making him write at the same time sounds good right now.

I remember some of the ladies saying that it depends on your goals for your dc and what type of learner they are. Some said they liked that it eliminated the writing element that is *such* a big part of ETC but others disliked it for that same reason. Have you had your dc work the free online sample to see what he thought of that? It might give you an idea if the purchase would be a worthwhile investment.
