Grammar for someone who doesn't remember hardly anything

Are you looking for a reference book or for a course to do on your own?

Probably the most basic reference book for grammar and usage is Strunk & White's The Elements of Style. It's very short and doesn't go into a lot of detail, but if you just want a quick refresher, it's great.

For something more thorough, I'd look at Warriner's English Composition and Grammar (Complete Course). You can find it used at Amazon.

I haven't used it myself, but I've consistently heard good things about Rod & Staff's grammar program as well. Good luck!

I recently went through Jensen's Grammar on my own. Each lesson consists of one page of instruction and one page of questions. The lessons build on each other, and the questions review previous concepts. It was difficult at times, but as a plugged away at the review questions, things started to make sense. I found that it has really helped me explain grammar better during our school time. My boys use R&S grammar which has helped me too.
