I posted about being able to tell my dc in K is getting bored with her fun "activities".

I need something "artsy" for my K'er.

But-It need to come with the supplies. If the supplies are more than crayons, scissors, glue and construction paper, I'm afraid it won't get done.:tongue_smilie:I'm not one to go out and buy wiggly eyes, pipe cleaners, buttons and such that are normally needed for kids art projects.

Any "open and go" art packs out there for K'ers?

Not to be dumb, but have you thought about just going out and BUYING a whole bunch of cool supplies? This is your excuse, hehe! We keep our stuff in those tall drawer things you can buy at walmart. We have different types of wiggley eyes, chenille stems, punches, wiggley scissors, stickers, etc. You name it, I buy it. Well not that crazy, but you get the idea. My dd REALLY liked papercrafting at that age, so I kept her stocked with all kinds of things and just let her have at it. If they like to do it, you really don't have to make it happen, kwim? If you need ideas, the Judy Press books (Alphabet Art, Zoo Art, etc.) are fun. But I generally just gave her supplies and got out of the way. I set up a table at her height so she could work neatly. Just go through the office supply and walmart and buy cool things. They make glitter glue, glitter construction paper, all sorts of things you'd never believe.

I have to have something that I can do and then put up. Something all layed out for me. I have a ds who is 20 months old that would be into everything if I just let my dc "at it". I would love, love, love to be able to have a "craft" station, but until my youngest is older, it isn't going to happen.:glare:

I did exactly that... took a trip to WalMart and stocked up on some fun stuff. Here is the link to a thread that has some additional ideas for art supplies... Art supplies - what do you keep on hand for PreK/K? (http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48181)

I personally don't know of any "open and go" art packs out there for K'ers, but my ds4 loves doing A Beka Art (https://www.abeka.com/ABekaOnline/CatalogSearch.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1) Projects. Here are a few that may be of interest to you...

A Beka Art Projects K4 (https://www.abeka.com/ABekaOnline/BookDescription.aspx?sbn=54429)
Designed to help develop the motor skills needed to draw, color, cut, and glue. The 45 month-by-month projects are correlated with academics, Bible teaching, and the seasons. Order one per student.

A Beka Art Projects K (https://www.abeka.com/ABekaOnline/BookDescription.aspx?sbn=26409)
Forty-four projects in this colorful book introduce students to basic concepts of art and give them a variety of opportunities to color, paint, trace, draw, cut, and glue with a variety of materials. Month-by-month projects correlate with academics, Bible teaching, and the seasons. Order one per student.

A Beka Art Projects 1 (https://www.abeka.com/ABekaOnline/BookDescription.aspx?sbn=60534)
The brilliantly colored artwork is on perforated pages for easy removal. Most of the 50 examples require only scissors, crayons, glue, and the pages from the 104-page student book.

BTW... my ds also loves doing all sorts of things with paper/cardboard... just give him some paper/cardboard along with markers, scissors, tape/glue, paper fasteners, yarn, etc... and he is good to go! He is actually allowed to use permanent marker on the cardboard and he loves that!

I hear you! That's why my dd doesn't get to do more art projects. There is always another little one around to get into trouble. DS is finally getting close to the age where he can join her but I have another coming up behind him.

We have been having so much fun! Our projects involve household objects like milk cartons, egg cartons, old sheets... We are using Around the World Art and Activities and More than Moccassins. I have found that I have to supply DS with his own project because he wants to copy us and we all have a blast, check us out (http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/album.php?albumid=236)! The biggest change we needed was my attitude. An art project takes a long time, but my children are enjoying themselves, eachother, their mommy, and school. What could be better to spend my time on? How much time have I spent shopping for toys, running for icecream, or going to the park? What's wrong with spending some time on this?

You can keep art supplies in a plastic box and keep them put up.
I have had a little one around for 12 years.
If I waited until I didn't have a little one around, then my oldest would be grown.
Just find someplace safe to keep art supplies.

Have you looked at the "How Great Thou Art?" stuff? It's Christian, if that makes a difference. You can see his stuff here:
