I have tried playing with the search function and am ngetting nowhere.

There was a great thread that went on to 4 or 5 pages a few weeks ago about non-depressing books for teens. Angela Thirkell, Barbara Pym, and Charles Williams were mentioned in it.

Does anyone happen to be able to find that thread or have the thread stored for their personal use?

I used the thread to get some book ideas for Christmas, but my dd1 mentioned that she wants more names of good authors, so I promised her that I would go through the thread and put together a collection of recommended authors from it.

Thank you! (Sometimes I feel seriously technologically challenged -- I have only gotten the search function to provide what I wanted a few times.....)

Is this it? http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69249&highlight=Barbara+Pym

I found it by typing Barbara Pym in the search box at the top right of the website here.

Gwen, there were two book threads. jacpui posted one, but there was another one with more adult books on it, perhaps with "light reading" in the title? If this one isn't right, perhaps you could search for the other ones.

Thank you! I meant the first thread -- I was typing in "not depressing books" instead of 'not despressing lcassics." Like I said, I am woefully technologically deficient.

Thanks again!
