You know, the boy who could never understand math...we went so slowly. Last year I insisted he finish Alg I while doing Geometry at the same time--his junior year.

So this year, he's breezing along in Chalkdust Alg II.

O.K. I can handle that.

But then there is this science thing.

He decided he'd like to do physics instead of chemistry. I said, "Sure! But you need Chem for college. Do Chem 1st semester and then you can do Physics 2nd semester."

He said, "Okay."

1st clue. This is not my kid.

Then he started doing Apologia Chem, 1 chapter/week. He got a little behind. (Not surprising). Now he decided he needed to make up for time.

HE IS DOING A CHAPTER PER DAY--5 chapters in 5 days. LAST TEST 100%.

2nd clue. My kid would never toss around stoi..stoic..stoy-key-ometry problems as though they were boring. Not my kid. No.

O.K. Who is this child? Or What happens to children who hit 19 years of age and suddenly take off. Does their brain just suddenly turn on? My daughter did this her senior year, too, and she was 19.

?????????????????????

It is fun to watch, but a CHAPTER IN A DAY?????????

??????????????????

Woo-Hoo! He sounds like a keeper! :001_smile:

Isn't this hsing thing just the grandest ride ever... just when we think we have this thing figured out, the rules change.... and we're left wondering "hmmmm.........."

At least today is a good, "hmmmmmm," eh? :001_smile:

Peace to you and your this week, Jean!

Good for you ds. Praise to you for being able to wait for him to start to click. I especially love the fact he's into stoichiometry--I majored in chem.
