just had to post. . . .

Right now, my son & 15 of his friends are finishing up a two-day filming of his own version of Star Wars - and at the moment, my dh built a big bonfire, so they're all standing around looking sombre at the death of a Jedi! (Marshmallow roast to follow).

They're almost done - it's sure to be hilarious - but I'm especially proud of how my 15 yo has really pulled alongside her brother and made it happen.

Look out, world!:D

Sounds like they had fun! Enjoy the roasting!

Not the funeral, but the concept of them remaking the movie. My kiddos are just now getting into Star Wars. My 2.5 yr old loves Darth Maul , and Yoda. He will even try to use the force.

You will have to let us know how the movie is!

What a wonderfully creative thing to do!

awesome. My boys love making films, too, but they're completely frustrated with our non-digital equipment.

I bet the movie turns out great.

Excellent! My boys love to make movies too. A funeral pyre is perfect (especially with a marshmallow roast right after).

Jen - my boys are also frustrated with our lack of sophicated equipment. We hit pawn shops on a regular basis and they keep saving their money. I keep telling them, Stephen Speliberg (sp?) started out with MUCH MUCH less and to suck it up.

seriously, we run apples, and it is SOOOO easy to make movies! My dd is thinking about entering the Bluedorn's movie competition (a 24-hrs thing), but the only people who would do it with her are teen boys, so that's a little tough.

But, if you can swing it, a mac is the way to go movie-wise. They even did a scene where they'll edit in lightning coming out of someone's braces to zap an enemy! Ha! :D

Tarheel Heather - are you in NC? My dh has an interview there this week - Greenville.

Better go - my ds is dying to edit the film on the computer!
