I have found:

Mathematics: Structure and Method Book 1
Mathematics: Structure and Method Book 2
Pre-Algebra: An Accelerated Course

Is the third a combination of the first two?
Does it matter what year?
I know Dolciani is recommended by several for Algebra - what about for pre-algebra?

And I have the Structure and Method Book 2 if you want it for the price of shipping. I got it at a library sale, thinking it was the Algebra 2 book but it wasn't. You can pm me if interested.

I have the Structure and Method Book 2 from 1972. We plan to use it for pre-algebra as well. In fact my goal is to send myself back through the book next year, it looks to be very thorough.

Structure and Method 1 is Algebra 1--back then (in 1965, when ours came out) and in the 1970s, you did Algebra 1 in Grade 7 or 8. I did, and I was in grade 8 in 1973-4. There's even an intro to trig at the end. Structure and Mehod 2 is Algebra 2. The pre-Algebra is just that.

Dolciani at its best is from from the 1960s to 1975 when she was involved in the writing. But the older it is, the harder to get solutions manuals. We do with just answers to the odd problems and dd checks her work anyway.
