I am trying to plan my son's Jr. High years and so I need to know where I am aiming for High School. This is for a kid who wants to be a scientist so I want to keep that in mind. What order do the Science topics usually go in and what math level needs to be completed to successfully do each level of science in High School?

I am not sure that actually makes sense but hopefully it is clear enough and someone will take pity on me and answer anyway.

According to Dr. Wile of Apologia:

Algebra I taken concurrently with Biology as biology does not need a certain math level.

Chemistry taken after Algebra I (or concurrently with Algebra II)

Physics taken after Algebra II

I think that is correct.

Of course he'll want to go further than that in high school math, but that is the math he would need for the typical high school science courses. I think it is helpful if Trig or pre-calc is covered simultaneously to Physics, or before as well. Wile does use trig in the physics book.
