I am considering using "Introductory Logic" as recommended in TWTM. I am wondering if you need the DVDs or can if we can do it with just the text and workbooks. Thoughts?

Ds likes the dvd's. Jim Nance is great.

We are also using the DVD's with the book.

Beth, Would you mind sharing how you use the DVDs/books? How many lessons does your son do a week? We are just starting the program and haven't yet found a good routine.

Thanks for any help,

Hi Sandra.

Ds watches the lecture & does the workbook open-book. Nothing fancy. No tests. In fact, its our lowest priority, in terms of the workbook getting done. The videos alone are awesome. I wish I just bought those, actually. He is swamped w/ other subs, and logic gets bumped to the back burner.

Sad, I know.

He'll do Intro this year. Intermediate next year for 1/4 credit. Hopefully he can squeeze in TL in 10th.

HTH! :)

Thanks! It helps to hear how others are using the program. We are also swamped - logic is often at the bottom of the pile at our house. Maybe we'll take more of a relaxed approach with it.

IMHO, you don't *need* the DVD's for this program. When it first came out, there weren't DVD's. Dd and I were able to get through it with just the book. She was 11yo and I had no prior experience with logic. We have the DVD's now. They're fine (meaning, not Mr. Pudewa, but okay), and we could take them or leave them. Ds can't find the next one he needs, so he's moving on without it. If your budget is tight, or you can think of something you'd much rather have instead, I think you could get away without them. If you have the money, they're a nice accessory.
