We just got the CD's for SOTW 1, and let me say they are already a hit! (Thanks KIN!)
I had planned to go quickly through the intro and chapters 1-5 since we had done them before, and then move on to chapter 6 in January. Well, we got the cd's yesterday morning and the kids begged me to go ahead and do all the way to chapter 5 at one time! So we had a SOTW afternoon yesterday!
They sat at the table and colored the page for each chapter while they listened. Then I went over the review questions from the AG with them, and we did the map for each chapter together. 8yo ds was particularly interested and excited about history yesterday. Even the 2yo sat at the table and listened the entire time while scribbling on his own papers!
While making dinner, I skipped ahead to the chapter about the Oddysey and the olympics, and listened myself while getting the tacos ready! Why didn't I try the cd's sooner?!!
I just wanted to share our enthusiasm and rave a bit about these CD's read by Jim Weiss. It was the first time we've listened to anything read by him, and now I want to find more! (anyone have any for sale?!) :D
