Polymer clay fans?

My kids are so addicted but it is expensive! I keep telling them this is FINE art. Take your time and take it seriously :). They have made so many really great things and I can see this really taking off as a hobby.

Does any one else have kids who enjoy this hobby? Do you have any books or tools you especially like? We are using the Klutz books right now w/ some artsy library books.

We have the Klutz books as well. To conserve, we use a lot of tinfoil and I encourage paler colours by purchasing the big 1lb blocks of white for mixing. I don't, however, stop the girls from using bright or undiluted colours, or they would never want to use the diluted ones.

My girls love Sculpey clay as well but we only buy it with 40-50% off coupons from Michaels or Hobby Lobby, etc.

I definitly wait until it goes on sale for half-off. JoAnnes, Hobby Lobby, and Michaels frequently have 50% off sales.

Target has good prices, too.

There are other, more advanced books out there, too. We've seen them, but I don't know the names.
