My dd7 is working through ETC 4 and I've found what I think may be a mistake, but I wanted to see if I'm thinking this through correctly.
In Lesson 3, the Rule is stated as: when a word has 2 consonants b/w 2 vowels, the word is divided into syllables b/w the 2 consonants - vc/cv.
Lesson 3 covers words that have 2 consonants between vowels that are the same, i.e., rabbit and tennis.
Lesson 4 states the same Rule as Lesson 3, but covers words like napkin and absent.
Then, in Lesson 5, the Review Lesson, Rule 3 is stated as: Words can be divided into syllables between 2 consonants that are the same -- rab/bit. All the other rules are stated consistently with what was taught in the previous lessons.
So, when we did Lesson 3, I did think it was odd that there was no mention of the middle consonants being the same, but trusted that the book was written the way dd was supposed to learn the rule. However, it appears that the Review lesson states the rule correctly, while Lesson 3 did not.
Am I reading this right?
