I did find one unit study online which looks great and includes a lapbook. Anybody here ever done a dino unit study or just a dino study? Any resources you could recommend online or off? I'd prefer Creation-based, but secular is okay b/c I can edit. TIA

We did this the summer in-between 1st and 2nd and had a blast but ours was evolution based.

I was just typing up almost the same question as you!!- looks like we posted at almost the same time. My dd6 also wants to study dinosaurs and I'm stumped! Hopefully we'll get some cool suggestions!

I did a dinosaur study with my dd when she was 5.5, and I have all the books we read, projects done, and any extras written out in a Word document. It's broken down by topic, ranging from a discussion of the main eras (Triassic, Jurassic, Cretaceous) to the possible reasons for extinction. You could easily omit anything I have that wouldn't agree with your young Earth perspective.

I'd be happy to email it to you if you'd like to see it.

You can email me...I think I'm set up to receive emails from list members. If not, just let me know on board. THanks so much!

Hi! Do you think you could email me a copy of your word doc. for the dino study that you did? I'd really appreciate that!! I should be set up to receive emails from the board. Thanks so much!!

It is called Adventures with Dinosaurs and lasts 10 weeks. All the lessons are laid out for you. Also, they have tons of books on dinosaurs that are not part of the unit study that you might want to check out.

This is not a book, but don't miss Walking With Dinosaurs. My kids love this show.

We used some lessons from this unit study:

and www.learningpage.com has great (free) printables.

We did a month or so last summer, and K is already asking when we can study dinosaurs again!
