Does it work to start with this program with no prior Logic experience or would you recommend we start with something else first? (and if so, what?)

If this is for you and/or your daughter, I would suggest going through Socratic Logic, 2nd Edition, by Peter Kreeft instead. I started reading it in preparation for TLI over Christmas (I really need to get back to it soon). I haven't been through much of TLI, but after a little exposure to both, I might wait until high school and just go through Socratic Logic with my boys.

Where would I find "Socratic Logic"?

You can order it from Amazon.

Get at least the 2nd edition (the 1st edition has too many editing errors):
http://www.amazon.com/Socratic-Logic-2E-Peter-Kreeft/dp/1587318008/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1203168962&sr=8-1

He also has a 3rd edition coming out at the end of March. I'm not sure what the changes are though.

HTH!

How old is your child? My son used this in high school, with no prior logic training at all (he was in ps until 9th grade). He did very well with it and it did help him with college geometry. I'm not sure I'd use it for younger students with no prior logic exposure.
