He and I have met several times here in the past week and a half. And it is always when dh is not here (or asleep)!

I smelled smoke, so got up to look out the windows. Then I noticed that ds had left the van interior light on while cleaning it this afternoon. When I went out to turn that off, I heard the guineas whistling and then... I saw those two beady eyes glaring at me. Grrrrr.... Thankfully, the chickens (and guineas) are locked up safe and sound, but I'm afraid if we don't get an electric fence or something, he's going to get them one night when we aren't home to lock them up in time.

I need to learn how to use dh's shotgun. Somehow, I get the feeling the BB gun won't do much.

Grrrr... I've got a personal vendetta (sp??) against that mangy rascal.

A trap and relocation. Hav-a-Hart works rather well for opossum, which aren't, imo, as smart as coons and are, therefore, somewhat easier to trap.

I've lived with that vengeful feeling, that desire to protect my feathered friends from the evil that lurks in the night. But, really, the opossum is only doing what comes naturally to him. ;)

I also liked Kencove Farm Fence (http://www.kencove.com/fence/) for portable electric fencing...just incase you wanted to consider them as a resource.

Good luck!

Ah yes, he's only got a hankering for a chicken patty.

Sorry.

You might be able to sympathize with this (http://cribchick.blogspot.com/2008/01/phantom-of-opry.html).

Although I didn't think it was as funny after the raccoons got Big Mama. :o(

'twas a time when a nightly scuffle sounded from the chicken coop...until a certain possum encountered a certain weapon (not a gun). His (or her) friend later retaliated by wedging itself into our crawl space and dying. The smell was...so not nice.

Shh...don't give our critters any ideas. ::Shudder::

(I'm serious, that made me laugh. "I'll show *them*..." ;o)
