It's almost time for me to order the next level of science for my daughter, and I'm vacillating between BJU Life Science and BJU Space and Earth Science. The Life Science textbooks were updated fairly recently, but the DVDs have not been updated. The S&E Science DVDs are current.
Has anyone here used the Life Science DVDs successfully with the new edition books? Is it hard to match up the material? Does BJU put out information sheets that tell the mom how to match it up?
I'd be grateful for any information you can give, because I need to get the order placed fairly soon!

My understanding, and someone please correct me if I am wrong, is that you cannot use the new LS books with the old LS DVDs. They just won't match up. I am currently recording the old LS classes off the satellite. I think they are fantastic and I am not worried at all about this being the 'old' version.
As for when they will actually have the new LS class on DVD...I have not heard. I have a feeling that BJU is feeling the economic crunch just like everyone else. This might possibly put a hold on some new class recordings for them. I know they canceled the Elementary Spanish step 2 class which we had very much been looking forward too, and is even listed in their current catalog as a satellite class option. I had it ordered, and BJU contacted me late in the year saying they decided to cancel it.
So my advice would be to either do the Earth & Space first and hope for the new version of LS to be completed the following year, or go with the current DVD version of LS. My understanding is that Earth & Space is a tough, tough class though, and might be difficult for an average 7th grader.

Nope...not that I am aware of. Besides, when you order the DVD class they send you the books that go with the class.

Thank you! I didn't realize that BJU would send out the old edition of the book to match the DVDs -- in fact, I wasn't sure the old edition would be available at all. That will be perfect in our situation. I guess we'll be doing Life Science next semester!

In the BJU catalog under the Life Science heading you will see at the bottom the DVD Subject Kit [#342378] listed for $399. Everything under that heading that has a little blue satellite next to it is what comes with your DVD kit.
So basically, you just have to order Life Science DVD Subject Kit #342378 and you will get everything you need, minus lab supplies, for the class. :D
Hope that helps! If you have any further Q's feel free to PM me.
