Today is the first day that the weather is what I would classify as WARM! For winter in Calgary, it was truly a WARM day! Warm enough for some of this nasty no-longer-white-stuff to melt! (Don't get me wrong... there's still a lot out there.) It is hovering right around 42 degrees (F) and we are lovin' it! Okay... so really it just marks the first day on which the boys could get out in the yard and earn some money scooping dog poop because for the last 6 weeks it's been too cold to even dislodge the poop! http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y63/posiepie/ROFL.gif
It is always so nice to get a reprieve from winter, no matter how short, to remind me that it will indeed end and it will again be warm... and that we do indeed have a yard under all that snow!
Since I'd complained so much about the weather over the past several weeks I thought it only fair to celebrate that it is nicer!

The migrating robins stripped the last of the remaining berries on the privet in our wooded lot. They are heading north folks. And they were raising a ruckus while feeding!

Well I don't suggest the robins head here. We got to 1F today. We may get double digits in the right direction tomorrow but we also get more snow. Seeing the ground would be novel at this point. I have seen it since it snowed well before Christmas. But the sun was out today. I sat in the window to soak some up before it went away.

We're north of you Nancypants--in that "other" city--and the icicles are melting like mad!
The kids have been out the last couple of days--the boy has figured out how to get "blocks" out with the ice chipper. He's got a good sized igloo. I just hope it doesn't melt too much--of course it may solidify and stay on the lawn 'till June!

You don't want to know the temp here today... just revel in your melting snow:p

We still have 8 - 10 foot snowbanks in our front yard!! It needs to disappear soon, because I'm ready to snap!! :)

Thanks for rubbing that in, Nancy! http://easyfreesmileys.com/smileys/free-mad-smileys-125.gif (http://easyfreesmileys.com/) Guess what I get for the long weekend? Light snows and freezing rain. Guess it beats last weekend's blizzard.

Well, if it's any comfort we are getting more snow tomorrow. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y63/posiepie/icon_bangshead.gif
Oh well... at least the "warm ups" in between the snow dumps are getting a wee bit warmer each time.
