I am trying to find a teaching easel with dry erase magnetic board. There are some that I like but it costs $200 - $300. I just don't understand why it's so expensive! Do you all know of any store that sell this at a more reasonable price?

Thanks!

Can you give a link of what type of board you are looking for? I'm not familiar with the term "teaching easel," and I want to know if it's like a regular easel or something more fancy. They have an easel they sell at Sam's club, but since it's way less than $200, I'm sure it's not what you're looking for. :001_smile:

Thanks! I want something like those in the pics. I don't need the tubs nor the double side. Don't need the casters either.

I found some presentation type easel but those are raised too high for my dd.

Thanks again :001_smile:

Magnetic Dry Erase Easel (http://www.amazon.com/Quartet-Magnetic-Presentation-Inches-EU500E/dp/B0013CKAGS/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1228336483&sr=8-12) ($162.82)

Maybe this one? It's not nearly as cute as the easels you posted, but it's a little bit cheaper. It says it adjusts from table height to full size, so you and your daughter could both use it. It seems like the magnetic option really brought the price up when I searched for easels. Have you considered getting a magnet board and setting it on the easel when needed?

I think school grade products are always ridiculously overpriced, probably because they're usually purchased for teachers using government money, and the government spends money like it's growing on trees.

Here is a Melissa and Doug one. I have one like it from Ikea that works well. It has a white board on one side and a chalkboard on the other. There is a space also for a roll of paper. The one from Ikea was very inexpensive but I just checked the site and they don't seem to have them anymore.

Thank you both!

I actually have the Ikea one already and we use it everyday! :D The Melissa & Doug one is nice but I really need the magnetic dry erase surface.

I am getting the teaching easel to use with AAS's tiles. I have considered getting just a magnetic board for like $20 - 30. But I imagine it will be kind of a pain to use a 2' x 3' board without an easel.

I guess I have to decide whether to bite the bullet and get a overpriced easel, or just get a cheap easel and a board.

Wanted to add that I just bought my youngest a lap board that is magnetic and dry erase for Christmas from Rainbow Resource. It was less than $5, but small. I think I remember that they had bigger ones but not sure about easels.

I'll second the small, magnetic whiteboards. Each of my children has one that's blank, plus several that are geared to specific areas (like an xy graph), and we use them all the time. We got ours from Rainbow Resource as well. Definitely a cheaper option!
