I know this subject has been mentioned a lot lately, but I have some questions myself.

My daughter is very good at creative writing, but has no research/report writing skills. What would be a good program to use with her?

Yes, it is for my 19 year old daughter. I am also looking for something for myself. I am not very creative however (if that makes any difference).
