This is for earth science. You are supposed to test a "variety" of materials (not necessarily metals or minerals) for hardness, density, electrical conductivity, flexibility and malleability, magnetic properties, thermal conductivity, and color & luster.
I guess my brain is mushy, I can't think of what to use as samples to tests.

I guess you could use anything -
bottle tops, metal & plastic
a stick
a strip of fabric
paper
glass

Soap
Iron Pyrite if you have some
Copper wire
another type of wire
Pumic if you can find some
some type of sandstone or hardend cly
a nice hard granite
magnetite if you have some or a plan magnet or magnetize a nail or other piece of metal
a sponge
