need suggestions

I am going to teach a co-op class for a bunch of 8-12 year old boys. I would like some ideas of things we can do or build in a simple setting. We have 12 weeks and the classes are one hour each week. I have found some little wooden racecars that they can paint and we can have a race day!! I also want some projects they can do that will have other people in mind. Like helping a neighbor or someone at church. Thank you for brainstorming with me!!!! Kathy:grouphug:
