I have ordered IEW SWI C for my boys. They are ages 9, 10, 12. If I use that for instruction for my oldest ,can I buy student materials B and A to use in conjuction with it for my younger two? If I down load the lesson plans for SWI A and B can I use them or are they just too different? Would I be better off using Ancient Writing Lessons for the younger two instead and just using C for them in 8th. I called IEW but they have not called back yet . I am wondering if I need to change my order before it goes out.

The main difference between the SWI levels is the amount of information they cover and the target audience. I haven't used level C, but I would imagine that it would move much too quickly for your younger two if you followed the schedule. Maybe you would be fine if you slowed it down and provided lots of extra practice (using the free lesson plans for level A and B).
If you don't want to do that much adjusting then I'd probably get your younger kids their own level of SWI or one of the theme based lesson plans. It also depends how comfortable you are teaching writing.
