DD can count items one-to-one to at least 10, understands relationships, knows colors and can compare objects by size. Does anyone have a suggestion for a math activity book? She is just working on writing numbers and letters. I also would be interested in any science book suggestions.
Thanks.

We just went to the dollar store and they had tons of workbooks that worked with simple addition, shapes and number writing. We use the RightStart program for math. We also were able to pick up some Planet Earth workbooks and the dollar store. Sames one we got a few at Michael Craft store and at Walmart.

My 4 yr old did MUS primer. We also did the SIngapore earlybird books. I also just got in Moving with math and I really like the looks of it. It has manipulatives, workbook pages, games and they have a picture book that you read at the beginning of each lesson and they tell you how to pull out math concepts out of the book to discuss that pertain to the lesson. it lookes really good and the first level is for prek through K. It starts at age 3. It is expensive, but I found a good deal on it. We have enjoyed for science at that age Living Learning Books level 1 and also Bright beginnings. Bright beginnings isn't just science, I only used the science, Bible and social studies part in it though and it was totally worth it.HTH

I LOVED Saxon K for that age. Find a used TE. That and some pattern blocks and small objects for counting, and you are good to go.

We have done MUS Primer - didn't work with DD, to cut and dry, not enough interest
She quite like the Singapore EB series although she already knows almost everything in those, just a refresher really. She likes them, nice and colourful, inviting.
We have also worked on the Kumon numbers workbooks which she loves!!
I am getting Math on the Level now because she learns best thru using what she knows in life.
I have also heard good things about the living math curric.

Right Start Math is my favorite for young kids.
For science? I would head towards the One Small Square books, Animal Behavior series, Magic School Bus or the Lets Read and Find Out series. Oh! for Pre-K 2-3yo's I love the Usborne lift the flap books. My kids would do those day after day after day.

RightStart Math
Math on the Level
Family Math
Living Math
Miquon Math
All of these are hands on and perfect for Pre-K and K too. If you want a workbook format with not as many manipulatives, you can try MCP Math or Kumon math workbooks.
RightStart is an excellent beginning math program. We also really like K12 science for young children. It is developmentally appropriate without being oversimplified.
