Ds, oh, Ds. The SAT is the bane of his existence.

His score went up about 120 points on the English portions--essay went from a 6 to a 7. Great, right? He didn't even prep. Scored in the mid-500's. Not bad.

Math, which he has been prepping for with dad, actually dropped
50 points. 50! into the 300's.

Sigh. He's taking the ACT on standby on Dec 13th, hoping for a better score on the math portion.

So, on the transcript, can I list a conglomerate of scores? His best math and his best English? Prolly not, huh...

As a ray of hope, many colleges use the highest scores in each category. So, they might take his highest math and his highest verbal scores and combine them.

Unfortunately, they must do that - you can't do it for them. :-(

Well...congrats on the English leap!

I listed all the scores on DS's transcript...then bolded (Is there such a word??) the best one from each category. I figured a hint wouldn't hurt... :001_smile:

Most of the schools we looked into took the best score from each category.
They still saw all the results because we sent the scores, but they specifically said they took the best.

We were told that it was common for the admission people not to see all the scores. The scores are sent by computer. They enter a computer program at the school which filters out the high scores, if that is what the school has decided to look at.

The whole process is so nerve-racking, isn't it? I put the SAT scores on dd's transcript but left them off the transcripts this time around for my twins. They took the SAT in June and Nov. We wanted to get our applications and transcripts in before the Nov. test scores were available. I was certain their scores would be higher on the Nov. SAT (and fortunately they were -- in all areas, not just in math, which was what we were trying to improve). I didn't want the June scores on the transcript, and I didn't have the Nov scores to put on, so I just left it all off figuring the college was going to get the scores directly from the College Board anyway. Can you do that -- just leave the scores off the transcript? The college is going to follow their policy on which scores they'll use in their analysis anyway. Just a thought.
