she promotes a literature based approach (http://www.carolejoyseid.com/)to HSing. I'm wonderign whether anyone here has heard her speak, and if so, what did you think?

If you can go, go. It is well worth it from what I have heard from other people (personally know). No matter what method of schooling you use, it is a wealth of information.

I wished I went when she was in my area. I didn't know about her until afterwards.

She lives about a mile from my house and is a part of our local food co-op. I have heard her speak several times over that last 13 years. She used to be well connected with Dr. Raymond Moore and held his educational philosophy. He has passed on tho but she still falls in a Moore/Mason camp of philosophy.

She used Hillyer and time lines with her ds long before SOTW was even a twinkle in Susan's eye :) She is a very engaging person, bubbly, and sanguine. She sells a lot of good lit books at her events so bring some cash.

Some folks in our church used her as a hs consultant to help with their hs. She helped them plan high school for their dd.

Blessings,
Rebecca

Agreeing that you should go. Even if you don't implement what she says (but I bet you will, wink) you will find her warm, approachable and very encouraging. Plus as Rebecca said, she brings tons of books that you can't find anywhere else, that your children will love. But buy early, as she usually sells out of some things before the lunch break.

I remember her talk as just saying what TWTM book said.

I have her CDs sitting here next to me. My life isn't allowing me much time to get to them, but I think just having them here has really propped me up when I've had a tough time.

Back in the Good Ol' Days, the kids dad and I went to hear her talk. He was so impressed he went and bought a pile of her stuff. Not his usual MO. I was pregnant and nauseous, but had fun anyway. :p

You'll like her -- she's funny and inspiring.
