Fun chemistry activity for ionic solutions

I'm teaching a co-op class using Singapore O level Chemistry but I'm pulling activities/labs from other sources. This one was really good - the kids enjoyed making the conductivity meter and then watching it work. All the required materials are easily found at home. I substituted popsicle sticks with plastic knives. I had various salts on hand from a science kit (Magnesium sulfate, etc.)
