If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all.

If it's not a sin issue, and your input has not been requested, there is no need to criticize.

I am *NOT* referring in any way to anything on this board.

It grieves me terribly to see the hurt, and the destruction, that results from unnecessary, unsolicited criticism.

That is all.

(Strider)... here's hoping that you haven't been the victim. Good advice indeed.

My kids attended a YMCA camp in CA where if a kid was caught critizing or putting someone down they were then asked to come up with 3 "build-ups" (positive things) to say about the other person. I really miss having my kids go to that camp. It was always a positive experience in so many ways.

trying desperately to teach my 9yods who seems to feel that it is his job to have and give an opinion on everything. How many times must I say, "If you don't have anything positive to say........"
