Memorizing US states?

I'd like to get my group of 7-8 graders to learn the location of the US states. Is there a fun way of doing that? As a group activity? I need ideas before tomorrow!

The Scrambled States of America. That has taught them where many of the states are and their capitals. It seems to be rather hit and miss, though. Perhaps we just haven't played it enough.:D

Have them make up tunes to memorized the states too.

We had a song in 2nd grade which addresses the states in alphabetical order.
It's either that or memorize the US map and which states belong in each region.
