I know this has been asked many times, but I never read the threads! Now, I need to know the answer!!!

I already have the original SOTW 1, but I'm wondering if the revised version is so dramatically different that I should get it. I already have the student book, teacher book, and CD's.

Also, if you think I'd be okay just keeping the original, would the revised tests fit pretty well with the old version?

Thanks!

The changes that I have noticed are that the illustrations (both in the text and in the activity guide) are much better and the fictional elements are formatted differently to show that they are different.

Does anyone else feel that the changes are worth buying the curriculum new?

I have collected SOTW items along the way b/c I have a DS9 and a DD6 who are using the programs. Every summer, I order the activity guide's worksheet pages copies. Though I do find there are some inconsistencies between the (old) AG text and the (new) maps in the updated worksheets once in a very long while, it's nothing we can't work around. Usually it's something like arrows that are supposed to be there but aren't, or vis versa. The content is still very much the same. The chapters are still the same title, same content (mostly), same focus, and almost all the same projects too. I think they said they corrected typos in the newer versions, as well as change the fonts for a smoother appearance.

Also, I emailed PHP this summer to ask about it. I had the older version of SOTW2 for DD6, but wanted to order the audio book (which is referred to as "revised" on the website). I was worried they wouldn't match up as she read along with each audio chapter. They told me there were few little differences, but just some corrections where mistakes had been made. (I may be simplifying that, but that's all I can remember). No super content changes.

ANyway, hope that helps. We LOVE the SOTW program....

Thanks! That was very helpful. I already have everything. So, maybe I'll just order the extra student pages and tests and work around the little differences. I didn't really want to spend a bunch more money when I have the whole program already-including CD's!

Thanks!
