I am planning on using EE (intermediate) with my 5th & 4th grader. From their FAQ page, I see that I can use one kit with 2 kids, but then they won't both be able to build the fun projects. The extra supply kit is very expensive ($95), so I'd rather avoid going that route.

Has anyone used this with 2 kids so close in age? How did you handle it?

They both like to build, so I let them take turns doing parts of the project, or take turns getting to choose what to do. Mine are 6 and 9.

There is no need to buy another kit. They can take turn gluing etc. I'd get an extra lab book for the second child and that's it.

With kids that close in age, I'd do as the others are recommending and let them alternate the building activities. My DDs are 3 years apart and I'll be buying the supplies again for the younger one.

Thanks everyone--I was hoping you would all chime in with the same answer. I'll go ahead and get one kit, and let them them duke it out! :D
