I am looking for users of K12 in 1st grade to share the experience. There is not much going on K12 yahoo groups exept gifted group exchanging ideas. My daughter is almost 6 and we are taking 1st grade courses K12 public in Oregon virtual academy. I am very happy overall with the curriculum, but would like to talk to other people if possible. There are some things I would like to supplement, some lesson to skip, etc. Do you supplement? What do you use besides K12? This is our 1st year of homeschool. I consider it a homeschool, there is practically no intervention by school officials at this point, except bi-weekily phone calls a nd asking if we need any help. I am very happy with this also.

I'm not sure I can be of much help... all we're doing at the 1st grade level for K12 is history, art, music, and science. But we've been enjoying those immensely.

We do Abeka Language Arts at this point (because it's how we started with all of them, and it's worked so far), and dd is advanced in math, so we don't do K12 grade 1 math either.

At the 4th grade level, we do supplement grammar (extra practice on concepts he's not getting well through K12) and math -- word problems and math games, on which K12 is a bit light.
