Has anyone compared these? What made you choose one over the other? Which would give a better foundation for writing? Do the Serl's books have an answer key?
TIA!

My dd completed the first 7 or 8 lessons in LLATL Yellow. She was doing just fine. I did switch to PLL though.
I really did need something either less teacher intensive OR that I could do with both my 3rd and 2nd grader. PLL is perfect.
Not sure about the "writing" as we didn't get very far into LLATL, but PLL does have composition prompts spaced out pretty evenly.
We're using the Hillside book and they have a free PDF answer key. If you haven't bought anything yet, I'd recommend it. I like the way it's laid out and most of the pictures are in color.
There is a teacher guide (http://www.lcbcbooks.com/pll_tg.htm) to Serl's book, but I don't know of just an answer key.
