How do you fix a zipper?...

The zipper on my son's favorite dinosaur footed pajamas is broken. The zipper is still attached, but when I pull it up to zip the pajamas, the "teeth" won't actually zip closed! Anybody KWIM? I'm just at a loss as to how to fix this. Any ideas?

you can sew some thread above that point, so the zipper can only go down so far. If it won't line up top to bottom, I really can't help you. I had to replace a zipper in Dh's favorite suit this week for the same problem.

I'm only half joking.

I have done extensive sewing for many years and have even tackled more than one wedding dress in my time. However, I *hate* zippers. For a zipper repair I have no qualms about getting the seamstress at the drycleaners to do it for me.
