I believe my ds7 may be dyslexic but I'm not sure. I need some more information to help me help him. Are there any books anyone can recommend or links? TIA!

The best is Overcoming Dyslexia by Sally Shaywitz. Here's a link: http://www.amazon.com/Overcoming-Dyslexia-Complete-Science-Based-Problems/dp/0679781595/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1225820438&sr=8-1

The website posted by Paz is fabulous.

My favorite books are The Everything Parents Guide to Dyslexia and The Mislabeled Child.

There are a couple of yahoo groups for dyslexia. Just go to yahoo groups and do a search for dyslexia or homeschooling dyslexia.

http://www.roadstoeverywhere.com/3RsPlusRead.html This is a set of reading books that has been very effective with teaching kids with dyslexia and other learning challenges to read. For more information, click on the UK link on that site as well.

The I See Sam materials look great. I might order them just to have a look;p

I dont know that they'd work for my more dyslexic child who needs very direct multisensory instruction.....but for my child who's 'just' into the clinical range, it looks fabulous. The latter child really doesn't seem to need all that Wilson entails in terms of repetition, teaching, reteaching. And interestingly, she memorizes spelling words, then remembers them weeks (and now months) later.

Thanks for posting this again.....takes some of us a few exposures to pick up on things;p

They just might work for both of your kids. My 13dd has severe LDs along with a cognitive delay---her scores range from preschool to post highschool on various subtests.

With these books she has learned to read at a mid 2nd grade level already and keeps moving along.
