I know R.E.A.L. Science by Pandia Press (http://www.pandiapress.com) has an earth science program and A Child's Geography Volume I looks a lot like earth science to me. Check out the samples (http://www.achildsgeography.com).

Here's a man who posted a free life science program. He now has an earth science program available for $50. The life science program is very thorough, so if the earth science follows the same sort of plan, I think it would be a good program:

Also, MSNucleas.org now has their earth science programming up.

I like Science in a Nutshell kits for earth science, too. But I think you can only get them directly from Delta Education now. Rock Origins and Soil Studies are both good. So is the one on Pond studies.

We are using Easy Classical this year for Life Science and have been very happy with it so we are going to use it again next year for Earth Science as well.

We're doing Ring of Fire Science. We enjoy it somewhat -- it's not spectacular. We're doing the Rock Cycle and Volcanoes.

I'm curious now, would this be suitable for those of us who re teaching evolution?

I'm curious now, would this be suitable for those of us who re teaching evolution?

We are on week nine of the Easy Classical Science Life Science and I've been very happy with it. Today was the first time I saw anything even remotely religious in it, and it was refering to using the Evan Moore Learning about Animals book. It said something like 'start with fish and then broaden the topic to how god made all animals different to fit their habitats'. Not something that is vital to the lesson, fish or even the pages from the Evan Moore book.

It hasn't discussed evolution, but at this point, at the level we are dealing with with these animals, there really wouldn't be anything to discuss. So far it's been insects have 3 body parts and 6 legs. Spiders have 2 body parts and 8 legs. Animals have differnt body parts to help them depending on where they live and what they eat.

So I think yes, it should be fine use with evolution teaching, but it doesn't teach anything about evolution. I haven't seen anything at all on creationism.

Easy Classical's main schedules do teach religion, so that could be a differnt story. But so far we've been very happy with it.

The only thing I wish it had were more book suggestions or coloring pages to go along with. When I got this program, I was also given Living Learning Books Science. I found that one a little light, but the final decsion maker was so few of their books were available in either of the base libraries, it just wasn't doable. Both curriculums covered almost the same animals, plants and body systems. I ended up merging the two together. If I can find books listed on the LLB, I get those as well, but they also included a number of coloring pages that we have really liked. I just wish Easy Classical had that. Next year I may have to find my own coloring pages, but then again next year my son's drawing skill may have progressed enough that he can draw things well enough to be happy with the outcome.
