We are going to dinner at the house of a family that we absolutely love. We have not spent a lot of time together socially yet (he is our DD's cardiologist). When they came to our house she brought a really nice gift of a tin of gingersnaps and a jar of pumpkin butter to dip them in, from Plow and Hearth.

I'd love to bring something. I do not like to bring alcohol. I offered to make something but they said dinner was covered.

Any ideas for something small to give?

thank you!

Do you have a homemade treat that you love to make? Or something like that? A plant? I usually just make something.

I just received a scented gel candle for the kitchen as a hostess gift and I love it. It makes the house smell so nice.

Tea towels from Palair Royale (on the Downtown Mall, Cville) or from The Happy Cook (Barracks Road). Scented soaps (Palais Royale has nice ones). Coffee and Tea from Greenberry's. Can you tell I have shopping in Cville on my mind?

I usually take flowers or Yankee candles. :) Sometimes I show up with a gift box of Godiva chocolates.
