I have recently started helping out a friend who is homeschooling her ds9 who is pretty unmotivated with reading. Things are going well and I've pulled out a lot of my fun and creative tricks for reading but need some new material. can anyone suggest fun games, silly lessons, etc... (not involving the computer) that I could use?
thanks!

Sometimes if a kid can get invested in the idea that wonderful stories come out of books, their own interest in personal reading rises. I would suggest that your friend make a priority to read aloud to her son something exciting. Give it a couple months for him to start really looking forward to that reading time together. As it becomes a positive part of his day, he may be more motivated to read at other times.
