I have been looking at the Baldwin Project website at mainlesson.com. It looks like they have a lot of great books there, but there doesn't appear to be an easy way to print them.

How do other people use these books? Do you just read them online?

DH has a Sony e-reader. We loaded some public domain works on it for DD to read in the car; however, I usually end up purchasing them. Occasionally I manage to find one of the original editions with colour plates.

Well, they sell all the books from mainlesson in www.yesterdayclassics.com (http://www.yesterdayclassics.com)

So, they won't make it easy for you to print:001_smile:

I usually try to find the books at googlebooks first. E.g. www.mainlesson.com (http://www.mainlesson.com) has 50 famous stories retold. But googlebooks has it too and it's easier to print in googlebook. So I don't bother with mainlesson for that particular book. If I can't, I try to find it in other digital library (just google the title of the book at www.google.com (http://www.google.com)). If you're lucky, you can find the book you want in one html document with all the pictures. So what you can do is to copy and paste into word and format it with your favorite font for printing.

IF you're unlucky, then you have to print one chapter at a time after changing the setting in baldwin project so that you can get print-friendly pages (no banner, no left navigation bar, white background, etc). In order to do this, click on "customize preferences' button and change from there. However, there are several books whose pages can't be changed into a printable format (i.e. it keeps showing the navigation bar & banner, even after I changed the preference). I don't know why. So the only solution is to copy and paste chapter by chapter to Microsoft Word.

I've been able to find some of the books on manybooks.net (http://manybooks.net). You can choose the format you wish to download them. Some even have audio versions.

I copy and paste it. But that's starting to get old.

We view them on our television set in our living room using the Wii's internet browser. I snuggle up on the couch in the dark and read to the kids off the TV.

Dude! That is brilliant!

I wonder if I could do Netflix 'watch instantly' the same way??

Maybe. Sometimes YouTube videos freeze Opera (the wii browser).
