Maybe he was, though I find it's hard to whole-heartedly believe a man who freely admits he's a liar and cheater.

Also, I am bothered that although the article mentions her name and age, the reporter didn't quote -- or, presumably, interview -- his adult literacy tutor. Nor any of his teachers, his parents or his classmates. Nor the students he taught, nor the faculty at his school, nor his fellow teachers, nor the teaching assistants he claims to have relied upon.

Good press for his books and his "foundation," though.
