if so how do you implement the lapbook? Pick one day a week to work on it, one week, one hour each day?
I would love to get my girls doing a lapbook, say 1 every 2 weeks, but I just don't know where to add it in.
Thanks!

We have used them a couple of times with SOTW for major areas. We put in narrations and other bits and pieces.
They do take quite a bit of work.

I just had my 3rd grader spend 2 weeks on an election lapbook from HOAC. It took the place of vocab, writing and history for these 2 weeks. She would never have time to regularly work on one, but we needed to fulfill a civics requirement for the state. She may do a state history one during the Christmas break, again to fulfill a state req. They are a fun break from the usual.
I just started having my 1st grader do regular lapbooks for her animal studies in science from www.homeschoolshare.com (http://www.homeschoolshare.com) (free!). She loves them, and it's easy to fit these in since her science is just reading library books with no experiments. She even asks to do them on weekends!

That is just what I was thinking was to take a week here and there to concentrate on a specific lapbook, it would be a good break form the routine.
